who else is with Phil on that, Bill Kreutzmann?
Can the remaining band members actually change the policy by majority decision, or is it even over their heads and at corporate level?

I don't know if "corporate" is involved, but even if not, it would still have to be unanimous. In some cases, this is a Good Thing. For example, there is just one surviving member of The Doors helping to save us from hearing "Light My Fire" being used to hawk toothpaste or underarm deodorant. The other two survivors (like so many other bands of that era--"The Who Sell Out" has gone from being an amusing album title to a sad reality) would be more than happy to trade their own souls and those of their dead bandmembers to Madison Ave. for piles of cold hard cash. Drummer John Densmore insists that Jim Morrison would be spinning in his grave if he allowed this. And I salute him for this. Go buy a Doors album today! :)

And when you find yourself forced to search for torrents to get Dead sbds, keep in mind that they haven't moved to stop the torrents, and best of all, they, like the Doors, haven't sold out to Madison Ave. either ("Madison Avenue" pronounced backwards is "you neva knows a damn"). Think about how much worse it could be, and be grateful! :)

on that note, even if most of the remaining Dead (minus Bobby)changed their minds, it would be out of their hands....? It's odd that Phil was not in on that decision concerning SB's.
Hmmmmm....anyone catch Dave Gan's phone interview with Weir about Vince Welnick on the last wednesday's http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?arch=14612 "Dead to the World"
